The taste of Sanjo at home!

Sanjo Curry Ramen started to be recognised as a local ramen around 2010, but it is said to be the oldest with a history of over 80 years and counts to one of Niigatas best five ramen.

It was born before the war, but spread to the public during the period of rapid economic growth. The hot, thick curry roux is ideal for delivery ramen as it does not easily cool down over time, and like Tsubame Seabura Ramen, it is said that local craftsmen were the catalyst for the spread of this dish.

How to prepare

  1. Cook the noodles in 1 litre water
  2. Put the soup base in a bowl and poor over 250ml of hot water, stir well
  3. Add the noodles to the soup and serve with toppings to your taste
